Christie and Justin

Last Sunday I spent a beautiful afternoon with Christie Lewis and Justin Abate. We wandered around all of the nooks and crannies of Old Town for their Engagement Session.

You can't help but want to shoot in different places every time you go to Old Town! There are so many interesting things there and it was a perfect setting for these two.

Christie and Justin will be married May 24, 2009. They currently live in St. Louis, but are coming back here for the big day. I can't wait to share it with them!!

Here are some shots from our session...

Addy and her baby sister

My friend Sue Brown called me and asked me to come by her house to photograph her grandaughter Addy and her new baby sister.
We set up a small "studio" inside Sue's home so that we could photograph the kids in their own enviroment, something I really love to do.
It was a fun afternoon and here are some favorites from the session...

Margaux Felty

It's a lot of fun for me to photograph little girls, since in my personal life I'm surrounded by all boys! Here are a few shots from a recent session with Margaux Felty. Margaux is a beautiful and active two year old. I had a great time with her at the Botanical Gardens and we were able to get some shots that I hope her family will treasure for many years to come.
A few favorites to share with you...

Stewart Family

The great weather has been awesome this past week and the sunsets spectacular! These shots were taken on a perfect New Mexico evening. So hard to believe it is late November and my clients and I are still comfortable shooting in the foothills!

These shots are from my recent session with Angela, Jim, Jason and Adam Stewart. We shot for about an hour when the light was at its best. As we were walking back to our cars, I could not help but ask this family to pose for me one more time as the skies were bright, streaky pink. The boys were getting cold, but they hung in there and kept close to their Mom and Dad!

The last shot in this session was taken of me as I was packing my gear using the headlights of a nearby car. The photographer was Adam Stewart who was quite interested in my camera. Maybe I have found a future assistant!

Rori McBride

I love Senior Portrait sessions! It marks such a special time in life and I always have fun doing them.

Rori McBride is a senior at The Bosque School. She will be attending college next year and pursuing her studies in broadcast journalism. I think she will do well- the camera loves her!

Rori and I had a great time in the mountains and we even had her parents step in for a few shots at the end.

Here are some of my favorite shots of the day...

Velarde Family

I want to share some great fall shots taken at the home of the Velarde Family. Bob and Debbie asked me to shoot these while their 2 kids were home from college. We had a wonderful time and even managed to get some shots with Simon the family dog!

These were taken right in the Velarde's backyard. As you can see, you do not have shoot in a large area to get great portraits. We used the gorgeous fall color that was growing in the backyard, which made the perfect background for some awesome shots.

The Hunt Family

I love doing families and have been very busy these past few weeks working with lots of them.

The Bosque is one of my favorite places to shoot in the fall. I spent a perfect afternoon there recently with the Hunt Family. Rich, Melinda, Brandon and Hannah are an amazing family. I have known them for some time in the Little League circuit and it was truly an honor to do these portraits for them.
The kids played as we walked around. We had an awesome time that day as you can see.
Thanks again Hunt family. Working with great families like yours makes me love what I do!

Maia Walinsky

Here are some of my favorite shots from a recent portrait session with Maia Walinsky. Maia is active in the theater community and needed some shots to update her portfolio. Maia is a talented girl with a great attitude and I had a wonderful time hanging out with her.
I asked Maia to write a little bio for me. Here's what she wrote:
Maia Walinsky

7th Grade

Bosque School

Some of the productions I have been in are Comedy of Errors (Shakespeare) and The Tempest (Shakespeare). I hope to one day be an actress or surgeon. If I were to be a surgeon I would be a cardiothoracic surgeon like my dad. My favorite movie is probably the Princess Bride. I have loved since I was little. i played soccer this year for my school and liked it a lot and I think i might play in the spring.

ONiell's Pub

Although I spend most of my time photographing people, sometimes I get an assigment to photograph another thing I love dearly--FOOD!

A few weeks ago I spent the afternoon at ONiell's Pub on Central. I got to tour the awesome new banquet facility and check out all of the great new things on the ONiell's menu.

ONiell's has been around for a while and had always been known for its famous drinks, atmosphere, and burgers. Robert and the crew at ONeill's also make some pretty amazing pasta, steak and fish dishes too. If you haven't been there lately, go and check it out. You'll have fun there and a fantastic meal too!

Gardenswartz Family

I'm taking advantage of the beautiful Fall weather this weekend, and so are my clients.
On Friday, I met the Gardenswartz family at the Nature Center for some fun Autumn shots.
I had a great time photographing this family,
and enjoying the perfect weather.

The Gardenswartz family were real troopers, letting me lead them all over the park and into the Bosque. We had a lot of fun, even with a small injury. You won't be able to tell from her beautiful smile, but Kathleen (the mom) suffered a bee sting during our shoot!

Fourtunately she was able to smile through the pain and allow me to get these great shots.
Thanks Kathleen for being such a strong woman! And thanks to Seth, Eve, and Jonah too. It was wonderful to spend time with you all.

Julia, Jack, and Matthew

Last Sunday I spent some time with my good friend Julia and her 2 amazing sons. I have had the priviledge of photographing them many times, and they always make me smile.

As a mom of two rambunctious boys myself, I have learned to let them play, let them be themselves, and watch out for the things they will throw at you!!
Julia, thanks again for having me capture your family's memories for you. You are an awesome mom and a great friend too!!
